Well Shoot..

I was hoping to eliminate a couple of my designs but that didn't really get anywhere. I guess I'll just start with the first two and go from there. Nothing new to report really besides that. I do have another project I will be working on though that I'll slap up here soon. I think some of you guys might enjoy it. If not, well then....I've got nothing. I'm not in the mood to come up with some witty remark referring to some location that you could go if you don't know great work when you see it.

Post Extravaganza: Part IV

Well I had another design kicking around but It really isn't anything too different so I thought I'd just leave it out for now. So that's it: Mk II-IV. I just wish I got some more feedback. I'm going to leave those posts "Open" for discussion and commenting for awhile to give people time because I know people aren't exactly glued to my blog. This concludes the extravaganza until further notice. In other words, Until I decided which designs I am either going to pursue first, or pursue at all.

Post Extravaganza: Part III

Again, feel free to refer to the last couple of posts and comment on them as you please.

Wii Sight Mk IV
This design is a step in a completely different direction in comparison to the other designs that I've already posted. This design is basically the combination of the remote and nunchuk being disassembled and placed in what I think would be the best shooter related button combination.

I think the sketch is self explanatory. It just involves possibly lengthening wires and alot of Pvc shaping and cutting and gluing...in theory. I haven't taken apart a wii remote and nunchuk so I don't have a good idea of how they tick. It's a concept though so I thought I'd put it up. Obviously, if it worked it would have a ton of advantages seeing since the button placement would be up to me and can be used to maximize shooter game play.

Post Extravaganza: Part II

Ok, here's Part II

Wii Sight Mk III
You may have to click on the picture to enlarge it and really understand what is on there. Basically there are two different versions to this design. The whole purpose for this sight was to eliminate the awkward hand position that is present in the Wii Zapper as well as other Wii remote shells on the market right now. Instead of having the left hand in the back like on the zapper, it will be on the front grasping the nunchuck as if it were a foregrip in the regular, familiar fashion that a firearm would be held.

The only difference between the two versions is the different designs to accommodate the Nunchuck. A trigger will be wired to a grip in the back using parts that I already have in my possession. (I don't have to worry about this part). The wire connected to the wii remote would be slung over the right side of the shell and connected to the nunchuk and out of the way.

The shell itself would be made out of PVC, probably 1 inch OD or larger for the better part of the body. Some of the things I like about this design is the hand position problem being solved as well as the addition of a removable stock. It would be made entirely out of 3/4 PVC inserted into a 3/4 coupler so that it can be removed.

One of the draw backs would be the buttons on the face would be harder to access since they are up top. The design can be altered to shorten reach by shortening the body itself. It will definitely be larger than the Zapper but think that's part of the give and take. It'll be comfort over size.

Post Extravaganza: Part I

Alright folks, this is how it's going to go down. Today is the start of my 5 part blog post extravaganza. I've had these Wii sight designs floating around and with my winter recess starting next week, I've decided to shoot my designs past you guys. I'd like you guys to critique some of these designs with me outlining some of the advantages and disadvantages.

I'm ultimately trying to weed out the bad designs and focus on the ones that are worth working on. Now I normally frown upon commenting on old blogposts but this week I'll make the exception since they are all going to be tied into each other. At the end of the week I'll be taking all of the designs and comparing their strengths and weaknesses. Alright, here goes.

Without further ado

Wii Sight Mk II

This is a simple one to start off with. I came up with design right after the Mk I didn't work out. (If you want to check it out, then search my earlier posts)

This is basically a lens marked with a reticle that swivels back and forth. It's attached to a wii skin so that it can be removed. The Lens swivels so that it can be adjusted to the reticle on the screen. My only problem with this design is that I may not be able to sight it in correctly.
